Traditional Usui Reiki

Reiki (Ray-Key) is Japanese for universal life force energy, the energy that flows around us and within us.  Reiki healing is simply a means of accessing this energy in a direct and amplified way.

Reiki aims to restore the energy balance by stimulating the body’s natural healing response helping it to overcome physical, mental and emotional problems.

People are often said to be drawn to Reiki even when they know very little about it.

Anyone can give Reiki healing, the techniques are easily learned.  However, you will first need to be attuned by a Reiki Master/teacher in order to become fully open to the healing energy.  Respecting the power of Reiki and a sincere commitment to helping yourself and others is also required.

You can receive Reiki treatments without having to learn any techniques and because it does not involve any manipulation of the body Reiki is perfectly safe for everyone regardless of age or health.

We do not diagnose with Reiki.  Instead, we understand that the body as a whole – physical, mental and emotional is in a state of balance or imbalance.  Reiki makes its way to areas of imbalance during a treatment to heal and harmonize.

Reiki is a simple and non-invasive form of healing that complements all types of medical treatments and complementary therapies.

Why not come and experience it for your self?

Sessions usually last for one hour at the cost of £35, you should also give yourself a little time afterwards to give you the chance to feel and assimilate the effects

WHAT TO EXPECT;

At your first Reiki treatment we will have a confidential consultation regarding your health and explain how the treatment works.

The treatment is carried out with you fully clothed except for shoes, lying flat on a comfortable massage table with pillows and blankets to keep you cosy.

Once you are comfortable I will gently lay my hands on various parts of the body in turn starting at your head down to your feet channelling energy to help restore its natural flow around your body and release any blockages that may prevent you from reaching your full potential.

I have been a Reiki practitioner for 9 years and I have found most people experience a sense of release, calm and peace both during and after a treatment, however, we are all unique and peoples reactions to their first experience of Reiki can vary widely from bemusement to serenity, elation and joyfulness. Sometimes there is an emotional release characterized by crying. All of these are quite normal responses,  You may be surprised as physical aches and pains disappear of their own accord as tense muscles start to relax, mental distress starts to reduce and solutions start to present themselves.

To  make the most of your treatment, I recommend an open mind with no expectations or preconceived ideas and if at all possible, not to plan too many activities for the day of your treatment, it is well worth investing some time in yourself.
